1 blanket, 1 WuA piece, 5 hats
For some reason I've been hanging on to finished items, and finally got around to taking a photo tonight. Here's this month's knitting:1: Snuggles Project cat blanket
2&3: 2 toddler hats for Caps for Kids
4: Chemo hat for Hats for Heart
5&6: 2 baby/preemie hats for the 20 Hats Project*
7: 1 "square" for Warm Up America (even though these are small, I do pretty intricate patterns, so I count them as a FO... they take almost as much time to knit as a preemie hat!)
*The 20 Hats Project is something I've launched for myself. My dad is a neonatologist, meaning he is a pediatrician who specializes in babies, and particularly in prematures. The babies he sees are really really bad off - and since he is not a knitwearer, I am making 20 hats for him to share with the nurseries with which he works. He doesn't know this gift is coming, or at least he's being graciously ignorant about it. So far I've finished the above two hats, and am working on more as I type (well, not literally). If you're interested in helping, or if you've been looking for an additional outlet for your preemie caps, please let me know.

First FO Posting - 9 Items
Hello all!
I enjoy coming by to see everyone's projects. I'm nowhere near item #25, but I have started collecting items for charity in a "finished project" box. Here are the items I have earmarked as giveaways so far:

Stockinette Wool Socks, Women's Medium

Toddler Knit Vest

Crochet Beanie - child size

5 Snuggles Pet Rescue Blankets

Toddler Pajama Pants
ETA: The Snuggles blankets are for a local Pet Rescue center. As for the clothing/hat...I'm hoping to give these to a domestic violence safehouse here or in New Jersey where my company is located (and where knit items are in great demand). I'm open to suggestions too!
Happy crafting to all of you. Keep up the great work!

Red Scarf Project
Wow! The Red Scarf Project is so successful they are limiting the number of scarves you can send in to five.
Scarves are to be sent in from September 1 to October 15, 2007. All styles are welcome. The predominant color is red because it will be part of a Valentine package sent to a college bound foster youth.
More information is here.

donating yarn...
So here's the deal... I have yarn.
More yarn than I will ever need.
Some are just scraps left over from projects, some yarn was given to me, you get the idea. But it's taking up more space than I have right now.
So do you guys have any suggestions where I should mail some of it off to?

Four Little Things
I just finished knitting four caps destined for the Afghans for Afghans newborn campaign. Here they are in a little pile waiting to be packaged up:

Here is one of them being modeled by my Halloween ghost friend:

The deadline for the newborn and youth campaign is October 12th. They seem to have enough baby things and need items for youths ages 7 - 14. There is still time to send your wool caps, mittens, vests, and blankets.

Anybody Wanna Make a Friendship Quilt?
Here I sit month after month, with great intentions of making another child's quilt for charity.
I am not fast. I am not particularly skilled. But I do love to quilt.
Wondering if there's anyone else (or several someones) in the same proverbial boat? And if so, would you like to join me in making a quilt for a Russian orphan? I went to Vladimir, Russia, in June with my daughter and was very moved by what I saw. Not enough blankets.
I'd love some suggestions about a theme, too. And colors. I'd like to make one for a young teenage boy since they are usually stuck with girly looking stuff from what I gathered. Something cheerful but masculine. Simple squares. Finished size : 44w x 72 long.
Anyone wanna join? Anyone got ideas? I would hand deliver the blanket to the Global Aid Network (GAiN at www.gainusa.org) and tell them to please send it to Russia. They are very good about honoring one's wishes because they've all been to the orphanages.
I am going to the GAIN warehouse in October, so my due date to receive the friendship squares would have to be Sept 15th so I can put it together.
Please leave your questions, suggestions, commitments, etc, in the comment box. I'll be checking back often. I think it'd be cool to have lots of hands on this project from all over the USA.

Number 7
This is another chemo hat and I'm currently working on another.
Pattern: Pi Topper Chemo Cap
Yarn: Elann.com Esprit (6287 African Violet)
Needles: US Size 7
Thoughts on pattern: I love knitting this. It's knitted in the round and goes really quickly. I also like how the brim is made. It's really clever as it becomes a garter border.

Hmmmm...should I count all of 19 of these as one?
This has been my project for the last month 19 bears headed to a group of service men in Kandahar. You can read more about them on my blog--the link to the pattern is there too.
a few more things
These are two more blanket/cap sets that I made for Operation Marine Corps Kids.
Also, when I was in Buffalo last week, I did a lot of crocheting on the plane and in the car. I was able to leave about 15 chemo caps for Roswell Park Cancer Center.
