Hi Everyone,
As some of you know, I am working on a project called Crafting the Nation. The goal is to send hand-crafted items to a charity in all 50 states. As it turns, the hardest part is finding a good cause in each state!
Please visit my blog (ladybugnotes.blogspot.com) and if you know of a cause for any state that I don't have in bold, please let me know. I've gone through Lionbrand but a lot of those charities don't seem to take hand-crafted items or they don't seem to exist anymore...both of which are problems :)
Thank you so much, and thanks again to those who have helped already!
~me =)
Join us in making a commitment to craft 25 things for charity in a 12 month period.

In the Mail
These items have been completed for some time, and it is time to get them sent. So, the items are packaged and ready for the mail.
These four Guideposts Sweaters will warm a child somewhere in the world. They are extremely easy to knit, and I adapted the pattern to eliminate seaming.
Another package of wool baby hats and socks will be sent to the All Crafts for Charity coordinator for the Rankin Birthing Centre in Canada. They are knit from wool reclaimed from thrift shop sweaters.

It has been a very long time

It has been a long time since I last posted here at 25 things. I am certain I met last year's goal, though I did stop counting. This year I haven't been knitting as much. Within the past few weeks I picked up crochet and am very much enjoying the speed it offers over knitting. I'm not sure which I like better. Anyway, I recently took 5 knit bereavement items and two crochet blankets to a local hospital's NICU. Presently I'm working on some items for EGF.

Several Squares
I haven't posted here in forever, (when I was on dialup, it was a struggle just to get my own blog updated..LOL) but hopefully now that dsl has arrived, I can participate more often.
These first 4 are going to someone who is assembling a comfortghan for a friend with ovarian cancer. The yarn is some millends I bought from eBay for the March 08 cancer square drive that I had left over. I don't know exactly what it is, but it feels and works up like Red Heart Soft.

The remaining squares are going to a group raising funds for Frederich's Ataxia.

I also made over 50 squares for a Cancer fundraiser back in March of this year, but I don't have any pictures.
Thanks for looking.

My First Post
Hi to everyone! I am new here and want to thank you for sending me the invite to post. I've been reading some of the older posts and admiring the beautiful items that have been created. I've joined this group to help me stay motivated in crocheting for my local charities. I've been a part of a few national charity groups in the past but this year I decided that I wanted to find some places locally that I could donate to instead. As my first project, I'm working on making baby 'angel blankets' for the hospital Labor & Delivery Dept. They place the blanket with the baby along with other items and are presented to the parents for the final goodbye. The parents are allowed to keep the blanket as a remembrance of their little angel.
